Osa Conservation engages in community outreach through collaborations with schools, community groups, and government bodies through environmental events, activities and celebrations. With a focus on biodiversity monitoring in the Osa, they are transforming restoration efforts beyond simply planting trees. They aim to restore stability to the ecosystem by refortifying the local environment and improving resilience to climate change as a necessary strategy to rewild this unique corner of the world. In addition the organization runs a botanic program focused on rare, endemic, and threatened species of plants as well as an experimental project to transform a pesticide heavy, ex-cattle ranch into a working organic farm and agroecological system.
Through donations and with the help of volunteers Osa Conservation has been able to restore local watersheds, protect nesting turtles, contribute to wild cat conservation, and manage reforestation efforts on the peninsula.
